Not to pat ourselves on the back or anything, but it seems that all the cool girls really do wear sneakers with their formal dresses. Or at least the models on the Paris Haute Couture spring 2014 runways do First Christian Dior bedazzled fancy slip-on sneakers and paired the water-shoe-esque designs with avant garde, laser-cut confections. Perhaps a harbinger of Jennifer Lawrence's upcoming Oscar outfit? She'd have less chance of tripping up the stairs wearing haute couture kicks Then Chanel tricked out the traditional running-shoe style with sequins, crystals, and shimmer to accessorize all the sublime beaded and feather-embellished dresses and gowns. And seriously, isn't off-duty T-shirt and sneaker-loving Cara Delevingne the perfect spokesmodel for this look? So should we take this trend literally and wear dressed-up sneakers with our formal dresses? And since we're on this sports-inspired kick (sorry, couldn't help it), what about Chanel Haute Couture fanny packs and elbow and knee pads? You'd be the best-dressed roller-blader out there Ready, set, DISH in the comments, please. Sneakers and dresses—yea or nay?
