I wanted to share a few hard-to-find Chanel exclusives I recently discovered. From Saks – Liberté (#54) Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss From Chanel.com – Baroque (#30) Rouge Coco & Berry (#58) Precision Eye Definer As far as I know, in the US, the items are exclusive to each category listed above. I did not have in person access to any of these, but thanks to the blogs Café Makeup, Makeup Magpie and The Stash Archives, I was able to find out more about these colors and make a purchasing decision. Up first: Chanel Liberté Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss #54 is a soft peachy-pink with subtle shimmer. The texture is creamy and thick yet smooth with medium coverage. The color is gorgeous but close to my natural lip color so it looks sheerish on my lips. (No lip swatches yet, it’s been cloudy and dark so I can’t get good lip photos.) I called up Nikki from Dolce & Gabbana at Saks Houston as soon as I spotted the Liberté gloss online and luckily she located a few for me. Hello August!! I am annoyed that the months are speeding past, and I seem to be having less time to play and have fun with makeup. All is not lost though, with Chanel’s latest collection of makeup specially designed for free expression, we can all enjoy makeup artistry in our daily lives! Chanel Ombre Premiere Collection is a permanent range of makeup to dress up the eyes. Instead of pre-decided quads, there is an extensive range of eyeshadows in 2 different textures that you can layer and mix-and-match at will. There are 24 amazing colors, from easy-to-wear neutrals to bold statement colors, in a variety of sumptuous matte, satin and metallic finishes. Chanel Ombre Premiere Longwear Cream Eyeshadow comes in the familiar round glass jar with black screwcap emblazoned with a golden double C logo. It is distinctly different from the older classic Illusion d’Ombre as it lacks shimmer, but is really quite close to the recent velvety ones such as this and this. Chanel has released a 2nd color makeup collection for Spring 2020, this one diametrically opposite to the warm-toned desert-inspired collection that preceded earlier [reviewed here], but sharing the same dreamy vibes. This La Fleur et L’Eau collection celebrates spring’s awakening with floral and aquatic inspirations bringing delicate translucent color. This is a rather extensive collection encompassing several options for the lips, eyes, cheek and nails. For the collectors, there are 3 palettes designed with swirls of camellia that should not be missed. I usually like to start my explorations with eye color makeup, but I think the focal point of Chanel’s La Fleur et L’eau collection is the lips. There are 3 options, each as beautiful as the other, and I think there is a place for all of them this season. The star here is of course the Camelias d’Eau Exclusive Creation Lip Palette. This is a handy pocket-sized palette that carries 4 creamy lip colors designed to resemble a tiny bouquet of camellias. Whilst I don’t generally favour lip palettes for practical reasons, these are so exquisitely presented, resembling lacquered art, that I find completely irresistible.
