CHANEL is a brand that fashion dreams are made of, and the wildest fashion dreams always involve haute couture. There are no occasions in everyday life in North America that call for a couture gown, but that really isn’t the point – haute couture is an art form, and if there was ever any doubt about that, the proof can be found in the CHANEL fall/winter 2016-17 haute couture collection. From soft tweeds to hand sewn sequins and beading; delicate feathers and glittering rhinestones, this collection is a celebration of the craftsmanship that maison CHANEL has long been known for – the few photos of garments that I shared on Monday were just the smallest taste of what we saw at the New York Fashion Week presentation. Although there are a lot more photos in this post, these shots still don’t begin to do justice to the collection.
