Old Hollywood is having a big moment right now… particularly as we’re all awaiting the opening of The Great Gatsby. Notwithstanding its French roots, Chanel has launched its Avant-Première beauty collection inspired by classic cinema from the 1930s. The collection features 8 Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshines, 6 Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Colours, and 4 Le Vernis nail varnishes. My favorites (yes, more than one!!) are most certainly from the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine range of lipsticks!! This latest iterations contain 30% more pigments for a more intense finish, yet still maintaining its lustrous shine! They go on beautifully smooth, and feel incredibly lightweight on the lips. I also found they have greater staying power than previous Rouge Coco Shines, and are far superior to anything else that I’ve tried. The new Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème lipsticks are exactly as their name implies, extremely creamy and hydrating on the lips. However, I found the colors not as interesting… mostly nudes and a bold red.
