Aahh Chanel, just as I thought I was swearing off your little jars of glittery preciousness (because I never use them fast enough and then they dry up in loneliness)… you turn out even more gorgeousness! But hopefully, this particular new moon will stay on my fickle consciousness for a bit longer! It is insufficient to wax lyrical about Chanel Illusion d’Ombre New Moon, it is that spectacular. Unassuming in the jar… this spongy mass of bronze… yikes no more brown thank you very much! But once swatched, the planets align properly to transform into a purple-y molten copper filled with iridescent glitter!! Yes, it has rendered me quite speechless. Review: Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in Emerveille and Convoitise
The Dior Addict range is having its moment in the limelight, first with the Dior Addict Fluid Sticks (reviewed here), followed by the Dior Addict It-Lash and It-Line (reviews coming soon!)… now the house of Dior introduces the Dior Addict Eau de Toilette! Composed by head perfumer François Demachy, Dior Addict EDT opens with a top note of Sicilian Mandarin, leading to a heart of Jasmine Sambac and Tunisian Neroli, before coming to rest on vanilla and sandalwood. I was pleasantly surprised by the blend as it is distinctly feminine yet has a warm creaminess to it to make it more elegant. On a whole, the Sicilian Mandarin lends it a sweetness that is toned down by the Jasmine Sambac, keeping it from becoming too citrusy. It wears down nicely by mid-day, to a warm vanilla with a touch of neroli to keep things interesting. I didn’t get much woodiness from the sandalwood with this, but I’m glad because the ensuing fragrance is really charming!
