Timothée Chalamet was born on December 27, 1995, in New York City to mother Nicole Flender, a Broadway dancer-turned-real estate agent, and father Marc Chalamet, who is French and works for the United Nations. Timothée — whose older sister, Pauline Chalamet, is also an actor — grew up bilingual and is fluent in French. Prior to becoming a movie star, Timothée honed his acting skills at NYC’s prestigious LaGuardia High School while simultaneously nabbing small roles on TV, in short films and off-Broadway. After graduation, the actor briefly attended Columbia University and New York University. The Hot Summer Nights star’s big break came in 2012 with a recurring role on Homeland, which he followed up two years later with a part in his first film, 2014’s Men, Women & Children. That same year, the Little Women actor portrayed the 15-year-old version of casey affleck‘s character in Interstellar. Timothée’s career only skyrocketed from there, scoring the lead role opposite Armie Hammer in 2017’s Call Me by Your Name. The part not only garnered the New York native critical acclaim and a large fanbase, but also scored Timothée an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. (He also earned Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice nominations for the role.) The Wonka star quickly followed up his success with even more critically praised dramas, including Lady Bird, Little Women, Beautiful Boy and more. In 2021, Timothée costarred with Zendaya in the epic sci-fi film Dune and was part of the A-list ensemble cast of Don’t Look Up, which also starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep and more. As for his personal life, Timothée’s relationships have made just as many headlines as his film career. The Bones and All actor dated Madonna‘s daughter Lourdes Leon when the two attended LaGuardia High School together and later dated Lily-Rose Depp from 2018 to 2020. After being briefly linked to Eiza Gonzalez and Sarah Talabi, Timothée sparked relationship rumors with Kylie Jenner in 2023.
